Obituary for Cynthia DeJarnette Wilson
Cynthia (Cindy) DeJarnette Wilson 57 of Crewe, VA passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 12, 2016 with her family at her bedside. A long time resident of Crewe, Cynthia was born in Lynchburg, VA on April 29, 1959 to the late William R. and Mary Ann DeJarnette. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Thomas L (Val) Wilson, Jr, her son Jordan Wilson and her sister Ellen D. O'Shaughnessy, all of Crewe, VA.
For those who were blessed to know Cynthia, she will be remembered for her bright and colorful spirit both inside and out. She was a woman of many talents and much creativity. She possessed the gift of being able to work with her hands and anything she touched, from working in her flower garden and koi pond to decorating her home, was done with great pride and passion. Her many talents and creative ideas were also shared and enjoyed by her beloved Longwood University family and friends. From serving on the staff advisory committee to decorating for award ceremonies and banquets and most recently her involvement in the upcoming Vice-Presidential debate, her Lancer pride and love always shined through. Cynthia was married to her husband Val for 34 years. Through these years, they enjoyed many wonderful cruises, beach and lake trips with friends and family. Cynthia's greatest joy in life was her son Jordan and the proudest moment of her life was the day he became a professional firefighter with Chesterfield County Fire Department. Her love and devotion to her family never wavered as family always came first in her life.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at Puckett Funeral Home in Farmville, VA. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home with interment to follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens.
