Dorothea Dishman Owen

Mrs. Dorothea Dishman Owen, 81 of Green Bay passed away Wednesday evening in Farmville. She was born March 17, 1928 in West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late John D. and Arah Easterday Dishman. She was the widow of Thomas Venable Owen, Jr. Dorothea was a member of the Farmville Womens Club. She was a former elder at College Church and worked at Southern States, Bank of America and BB&T.
She is survived by her daughters, Sally O. Reed of Farmville, Mary O. Perini and husband, Tony of Farmville and Susan O. Clark and husband, David of Midlothian; and her four grandchildren, Tiffany Adkins, Todd and Megan Buchanan and Carson Clark. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, John Donald Dishman.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 2, 2010 11:00AM at College Church in Hampden-Sydney with interment in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday evening 6:00-8:00PM at the Puckett Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to College Church, American Heart Association, American Lung Association or to Meherrin Fire and Rescue Department.
