Obituary for Frank Edward Baldwin
Bishop Frank Edward Baldwin inherited his heavenly reward on September 6, 2016, surrounded by loving family. He was born on Sept 24, 1928 to Hoyle Rosser Baldwin and Bessie Tolbert Baldwin. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Evelyn Martin Baldwin, two daughters; Sharon Baldwin and Diane Baldwin Joyner, 2 brothers, 4 sisters.
He is survived by 3 sons; Bishop Don Baldwin and wife Jackie of Stedman, NC, Dwain Baldwin and wife Theresa of Vinton, VA, Darrel Baldwin and wife Julie of Crewe, VA, 2 daughters; Debra Moore and husband Ricky of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Darleen and husband Bishop Ted Fortenberry of Covington, VA, son in law, David Joyner, extended family; Ricky and Karina Smith, Phillip and Sharon Taylor, Roger Jones and a host of others who were discipled by Pastor Baldwin.
Frank’s surviving brothers and sisters include; Morton Baldwin, Marie Hodges and Rachel Clarke.
Frank accepted Christ in October 1959 and immediately began witnessing with a passion, winning people to Christ, and working in the church at Piney Grove which later became Burkeville, Pastorates include Farmville (1965-1976), Kenbridge (1976-1990), Appomattox co-pastor (1967-1968), Chase City (1990-1994), South Boston (1995-1997) and Farmville (1997-2009). He helped to organize 5 churches and build 3 church buildings. He served as District Overseer for 25 years.
He also retired as a brakeman for the Norfolk & Western (Southern) Railroad after 43 years.
Wherever there was work to be done for the Lord that’s where Frank was. He was passionate about winning people to Christ. He loved God and loved people.
Frank was loved by so many people. He will be missed by his family, church, friends and everyone who knew him. He is now reunited with his wife, Evelyn, of 66 years. Most of all he has received the Victor’s crown.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 1:00PM in the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home with interment to follow in Crewe Cemetery.
Family will receive friends on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Puckett Funeral Home.
