Freeman Cliborne Wallace, , Sr. 79, of Farmville, Va., passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 surrounded by family. Freeman was born and raised in the Darvills community of Blackstone, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Josie and Bob Wallace, and his brothers Clifton, Carlton, and Robert Wallace. He is survived by June, his loving wife of 53 years, along with his four children—Kenneth (children Jennifer Jamison & K.C. Wallace), Freeman (wife Tracy, and children Brandi, Brook, Barrett, and Justin), Tammy Smith (husband Roland, and children Emily and Jeffrey), and Rene’ Carbone (children Timothy Hayes, Ashley Barrios, and Makenzie Carbone). He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren—( Kari, Liam, Jonathan, and Liam), his beloved sister Brenda Ellingsworth, and brothers Harold and Spencer Wallace. Freeman retired from Centel / Sprint after many years of dedicated service. Freeman loved life, had a great sense of humor, and always kept his family laughing with funny sayings that he invented—(“no fools, no fun”). He enjoyed dancing; spending time with his family, travelling, cutting his grass, tinkering, and he loved his animals and birds. He will truly be missed by family, friends, and all the lives that he touched. The family will receive friends at Puckett Funeral Home on Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 6 pm until 8 pm, and a funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19th, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Brown’s Presbyterian Church. Graveside services will commence at Thompson Family Cemetery (beside Thompson Road or route 699) immediately following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Randolph District Volunteer Fire Department, 2145 Cumberland Road, Farmville, VA., 23901 or to Brown’s Presbyterian Church, c/o June Wallace @ 136 Thompson Road, Farmville, VA., 23901.
