James Douglas Ranson, Jr.

Ranson, James Douglas Jr. 68 of Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on November 20, 2010. He was born June 22, 1942 to the late James Douglas Ranson Sr. and Hulda Asal Ranson of Cumberland.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Doris Jean Adcock Ranson and his daughter, Karen Marie Ranson of Cumberland. He was a graduate of Cumberland High School and Smithdale Massey Business School.
Doug was an employee of DuPont and the Virginia Department of Transportation before returning home to work with his father in the family business, Hillcrest. He retired the family business after serving the public for over 65 plus years. We would like special mention of his devoted cousin and friend Walter Dickie Fahrner who was always there to support him and his family
Family will receive friends on Monday, November 22, 2010 6:00-8:00PM at the Puckett Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 23, 2010 2:00PM at Center Presbyterian Church in Cumberland. Memorial contributions may be made to Fitzgerald Baptist Church.
