James E. Jim" Collins

Mr. James E. Jim Collins, 81 of Farmville passed away Saturday at his residence. He was born in Wise County, Virginia to the late Andrew and Rosa Burke Collins. He served his country in the United States Army at the end of WWII. Jim was the husband of Donna Hall Collins. Mr. Collins retired in 1991 after 34 years of service to the Virginia Department of Corrections.
He is survived by his wife, his son, Andrew Kent Collins of Fredericksburg, VA; his brothers, Clarence Collins of Wise, VA and William Collins of Dayton, Ohio and his sisters, Evelyn Craiger and Jean Copeland both of Dayton, Ohio.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2010 2:00PM at the Highland Funeral Home in Bland, Virginia. Family will receive friends Wednesday 1:00-2:00PM at the funeral home in Bland, VA.
