James W. Watson Sr.

Longtime area resident James W. Watson, Sr. passed away in his home over the weekend. Born in Rice, VA in 1930, he served in the Air Force, where he met his beloved wife Dorothy. After the Air Force, Jim and Dorothy moved to Farmville where he worked for the local telephone company, rising from the position of lineman to that of supervisory engineer. He is survived by his son Bill, his daughter Sue and her husband Jim, a son Doug, and his youngest son Greg and wife Cindy, as well as five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 10:00AM with interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice, VA. Puckett Funeral Home is serving the family.
