Juan Diaz Leon, 93 of Farmville, VA passed away on September 15, 2022.
He was born in Rio Piedras Puerto Rico to the late Hermenegildo and Paula Ruiz De-Leon.
His favorite past time was watching the Mets play baseball, fishing and was the head chef with the love of cooking. He owned his own restaurant, loved to feed and help people and was a generous soul with a humongous heart.
He served his country in the US Army during two wars, Korea and Vietnam.
His military decorations include NDSM-GCMDL First And second award, four letters of appreciation, and one letter of commendation, a Bronz Star for service in Vietnam. His rank was Sgt First Class, Mess Stuart.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Isales Leon, his children Juan Leon, Heina Bean, Heina Bridges, Darita Pfister, Alicia Rosado, and John Michael De Leon.
“Johnny” was survived by 17 grandchildren and many loving great grandchildren a sister Juanita Arzuaga and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Darita PFister, 3 brothers; Jesus Leon (Chu), Pablo Leon (Payo), Casildo Leon (Chiro).
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 10:00AM at Amelia Veterans Cemetery. Puckett Funeral Home is serving the family. www.puckettfh.com.
