Kenneth Edward Townsend, age 22, of Prospect, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. Born October 14, 1996, he is survived by his parents, Paul and Crystal Townsend, and his brother Hunter Townsend, all of Prospect. In addition to his parents and brother, he is survived by Sydney Ditmar (girlfriend) of Maryland, grandparents Danny Glenn (Betty), Barbara Glenn, Judy Ownby (Tom), and Bernie Townsend, and great-grandparents Woodrow and Dora Townsend. Aunts and Uncles include Danielle Hogan (Bill), Edward Glenn (Ashley), Rebecca Reames (Wes), Tim Townsend (Rebecca), Kenny Krall, Josh King (Adriane), John Townsend, Daniel Townsend, and Matthew Townsend. Kenny had numerous cousins and other extended family and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Danny Townsend.
Kenny enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting, fishing and go-cart racing. He also had a passion for wood working and playing the guitar. He was a December 2018 graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation. While at Tech, he was a member of the Virginia Tech Forestry Club and enjoyed participating in timber sport competitions. After graduation, he pursued a career with WestRock and was employed as an Associate Procurement Forester.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11:00AM in Glenn Memorial Baptist Church with interment to follow in Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery.
