Marion Papas Hawkins

Marion Papas Hawkins, 86, of Farmville, passed away Friday, March, 19, 2010 at her home. She was the widow of Millard H. Hawkins.

Born in Newport News , April 3, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Mike and Grace Roberts Papas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She is survived by her daughter, Vacelo H. Moore, Farmville; two sons, Mike Hawkins (Bernice) of Spotsylvania; and Frederick L. Freddie Hawkins of Chattanooga, TN. She was predeceased by her other son Walter. Surviving grandchildren are Suzanne Moore of Farmville; Wayne Hawkins of Zion, IL; Ryann Hawkins, Tracey Payne and Angela Beach of Fredericksburg; Kelly Hawkins of Richmond; Shaun Hawkins of Albany, GA; Tracy Williams of Richmond; Mandy Nealy of Midlothian; and Christopher and Daniel Hawkins of Rock Hill, SC. Also surviving are great-grandchildren Devin Moore of Farmville; Timmy, Brittany & Sophia Hawkins; Sara, Allie, Richard and Raymond Payne; Hannah and Katie Beach; Gavin, Baxton and Laila Hawkins; Will and Luci Milo; Carson and Leah Nealy; and two great-great grandchildren. Other survivors special to her are Gale Hawkins, Cathy Hawkins, and her loyal caregiver, Suntrease Green.





Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 24, 2010 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Burkeville. Interment will follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens . The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 PM, Tuesday at Puckett Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Virginia, Farmville; Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Farmville; or the Alzheimer's Association of Virginia.
