Myrtle Hart Bridgforth

Myrtle H. Bridgforth age 90 of Farmville, VA passed away in Farmville, September 9, 2013. She is the widow of W. Louis Bridgforth. She was born in Lunenburg County to the late Lula Passmore and Thorton H. Hart on December 3, 1922. She was raised in Victoria, VA and as an adult she worked for the Rationing Board during WWII. She volunteered at the hospital for 13 years and was a dedicated worker. She was a member of the Farmville United Methodist Church and an honorary member of the Farmville Lions Club. Later she became one of the first women members and was very active as a state wide member. She is survived by her children; a son, William Louis Bridgforth Jr. (Carol) of Midlothian VA, and a daughter, Deborah B. Cairnes (Randy) of Southerland, VA. Four grandchildren; Will Bridgforth, John Bridgforth, Shanna Orr, Katrina Buyalos and two great grandchildren; Hunter Orr and Caitie Orr. She was preceded in death by her husband and three sisters; Louise Elder, Margaret Mauck and Adele Hart. A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 2:00PM in Farmville United Methodist Church, with interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Puckett Funeral Home from 6:00PM – 8:00PM.
