Obituary for Richard Glenn Fuller
Richard (Dick) Glenn Fuller, 94, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2018 at the Hickory Hill Retirement Community in Burkeville, VA. He was born in Conneaut, OH on June 23, 1923, the youngest of three children.
Dick served his country during World War II as a telephone and telegraph lineman in the US Army Air Forces Signal Corps in the Pacific Theater from 1942-1946. When he returned to Conneaut, he worked at the General Electric Base Plant as a production engineering electrician for 40 years. He also served as a volunteer fireman and was a member of the Ohio State Highway Patrol auxiliary unit.
After his retirement in 1985, Dick and his wife, Margery, moved to Farmville, VA. He was an active member of Farmville United Methodist Church and the Farmville Lions Club. He also enjoyed designing homes, woodworking, painting, and traveling. He visited 49 of the 50 states throughout his life.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents, his 2 older sisters, and one son and his wife, Gregory Allen Fuller and Phoebe Parker Fuller. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Margery (Marge) Hopkins Fuller, of 71 years. He is also survived by his three other children and their spouses: son, Bradley Glenn Fuller and Donna Wynn Fuller of Farmville VA; daughter, Jacelen (Jackie) Fuller Morrison and James William (Bill) Morrison of Montgomery, AL; and daughter, Rebecca (Becky) Fuller Venezia and Anthony (Tony) Daniel Venezia of Wheaton, IL. He was also blessed with 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 10:00am at Puckett Funeral Home, Farmville, VA, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00am.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pipe Organ Fund of the Farmville United Methodist Church, 212 High Street, Farmville, VA 23901.
