Ruby Dunkum Falls

April 7, 1920 — February 2, 2013

Ruby Dunkum Falls, 92, of Farmville, died Saturday, February 2, 2013. She was born April 7, 1920 in Buckingham County, the daughter of Robert Henry and Isia Frances Dunkum. She was the widow of Laythan M. Falls. Mrs. Falls was retired employee of Craddock-Terry Shoe Corporation and the oldest member of Concord Baptist Church in Buckingham County. She is survived by two children, Wayne Falls and his wife Karen and Elaine Flowers and her husband Walter both of Farmville; two granddaughters, Sharon Flowers Keefe and her husband Jon of Lynchburg, Jennifer Flowers Davis and her husband Dan of Rice and one great-grandson, Zachery Davis of UVA Charlottesville; and a very special brother, Juan Dunkum of Chesterfield. She was predeceased by seven brothers, Floyd Dunkum, Walter Dunkum, Percy Dunkum, George Dunkum, LeRoy Dunkum, Earl Dunkum and James Dunkum, and three sisters, Ruth Beasley, Louise Martin and Minnie Spencer. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 11:00am at Concord Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday evening 6:00-8:00pm at the Puckett Funeral Home.
