Verdie Leonard Roop

Verdie Leonard Roop, 92, of Crewe, VA went home peacefully on May 21, 2022. She was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, a Sunday School teacher, a Nottoway County bus driver and food service worker, baby sitter, food service worker at Camp Pickett, Fort Lee, Piedmont Geriatric Hospital, and Powhatan Correctional Center. She was a quilter, bird watcher, a literacy project volunteer and a historian. She loved her Church, Little Flock Primitive Baptist in Amelia. Verdie is survived by daughters: Patricia (Lee) Szklennik. Grace (Harry) Seymour. grand daughters: Crystal (Paul) Poindexter and Valarie (Jason McNeary) Childers. two great grand children: Shayla Lowe and Rylan McNeary.
