Mrs. Viva Lee Farley, 78 of Amelia passed away Monday in Lynchburg. She was born May 13, 1930 in Hancock Co. Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late George and Zanie Mathis Seal. She was a loving and caring mother, sister and grandmother. She was involved with many organizations and was an avid gardener. She was the widow of James A. Farley.
She is survived by her sons, John Michael Heywood of Richmond and James Shane Heywood and wife, Barbara also of Richmond; her brothers, Ralph Seal and wife, Dorothy of Cumberland, Reece Seal and wife, Barbara of Ocean City, Maryland, Paul Seal and wife, Shirley of Cumberland, Mitchell Seal and wife, Frances of Amelia and Jerry Seal and wife, Doris of Cumberland; her sisters, Nell Seal of Richmond, Merle Watson and husband, Frank of Cumberland and Annette Hensley and husband John of Chesterfield; her granddaughter, Carla Farris and husband, Jason of Chester and her great granddaughter, Natalie of Chester; her sisters-in-law, Rose Mundin and Viola Farley both of Amelia and Betty Farley of Henrico; her stepchildren, James V. Farley and wife, Nancy of Amelia, Margie Daniels and husband Tom of Amelia and Judy Mull of Roanoke; step grandchildren, Brandy Brooks and Allen Brooks II both of Chesterfield, Andrew and Amanda Farley of Amelia, Matthew Daniels of Amelia, Tommy Blevins of Powhatan, Dana Hollins and Lisa Hart both of Chester, VA; step great-grandchildren, Turrissa and Kasey Evans of Chesterfield and Elizabeth Farley of Amelia. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Jeffrey Dean Heywood and her sister, Stella Seal Watson.
A funeral service will be held Friday, May 8, 2009 2:00PM at Tar Wallet Baptist Church with interment in Center Presbyterian Church. Family will receive friends Thursday evening 6:00-8:00PM at the Puckett Funeral Home in Farmville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Amelia Volunteer Rescue Squad
