Willard Miles Bound

March 15, 1932 — September 26, 2022

Will Bound celebrated and treasured God’s promise of forgiveness and eternal life in Christ. He shared that with many of us as he sang in the choir and talked over a meal. God’s promises to Will have been realized as God brought him from this valley of sorrow to his heavenly home. We rejoice for Will whose race is now done.

There will be a service celebrating God’s faithfulness to Will and his resurrection to eternal life on Thursday, September 29th at 11 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Farmville. Family visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 AM on Thursday immediately before the service..

Mourning his death are his wife, Rebecca Bound, daughters, Connie Bound, Terry Rode(Bruce), and Jessica Jamison(Josh), son David Bound (Linda), 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Will is also survived by 2 sisters Antoinette Rising & Rae Ann Lakin, and a brother Edward Bound. He is predeceased by his sisters Margaret Champlain and Dora Baker.

Willard who was born March 15,1932 in Hobbles Corner, NY was the son of Oliver Leroy Bound and Mildred Francis Lovelace Bound,

Will was currently serving as an elder at St. John's Lutheran Church and served as treasurer in the past. In addition he also enjoyed singing in the choir. While at the old location on South Main Street, Will was instrumental in several chicken barbecues in fundraising for St John's. His main concern was being able to help those in need. In addition to helping his church family he was involved in Feeding Farmville and Meals on Wheels.

Will was a veteran, having served in the army during the Korean Conflict. When he returned home from Korea he served as a sheriff's deputy in New York state.

Will & his wife Becky retired to Virginia where they enjoyed country living for many years.

Memorial gifts in Will's memory may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church 1301 Milnwood Road, Farmville, VA 23901.

We mourn his absence, but are reassured by the faith Will had in his Savior, Christ Jesus
