Anneliese Spiry
Vizi
Aug 3, 1937 — Oct 28, 2026
Powhatan, VA

First United Methodist Church
1:00 - 2:00 pm (Eastern time)
Anneliese Spiry Vizi, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on October 28, 2026, at the age of 89.
Born in Germany on August 30, 1937, Anneliese will be remembered for her unconditional love and affection. She dedicated her life to her family, especially to her grandchildren, always there with a warm embrace.
From a hobby of our mother’s, she became a certified ceramics teacher which she taught hundreds of students in Wisconsin and Georgia the ins and outs of creating something out of nothing. She was an expert on capturing wildlife tones on ceramic pieces that were made by her keen eye for color contrasts. Anneliese’s talents didn’t rub off on her children but we all have pieces of her talents in our homes and our hearts.
Anneliese was preceded in death by her husband Joseph and is survived by her loving children and their spouses, Silvia (Vizi) and Jong-Whan Kim, Frank Vizi, Joseph Vizi Jr and Diane Wiesner, Christopher and Lynne Vizi. Grandchildren and their spouses, John and Ruth Kim, Anthony Kim, Michelle Kim and Brendan Zoglman, Benjamin Vizi, Aaron and Mariah Vizi, Conor Vizi, Kristen Stevens. Great-Grandchildren Mae Kim, Faith Kim, Nathan Kim, Ayden Vizi, Isabella Vizi, and Logan Vizi.
A special thank you to Joseph Jr, Diane and the rest of the Wiesner family for being there for Mom when she needed it most. We don't say it enough, but your dedication means the world to the entire family.
A celebration of life will be held at First United Methodist Church in Griffin, Georgia on Saturday November 21st at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to your local animal shelter because our mother loved animals.
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” Revelation 21:4
