Beverly Wright Shapiro
Oct 18, 1963 – Feb 8, 2024
Born Beverly Diane Wright to the late Florence Virginia Jamerson and Ernest Herbert Wright.
Surviving family members include Irving (Brother), Edith (Sister), Paul Daniel II (son), and Paul Shapiro (Husband), Martha (In law).
Raised in the rural community of Dillwyn in Buckingham Co; she would enjoy her childhood being doted upon by her loving Mom and Dad, with one of her fondest memories being eating winter snowballs prepared and preserved by her dad in the hot summer.
Educated through the public school system she would graduate high school with honors in 1982, furthering her education she would enroll in the Southside School of Practical Nursing at Longwood University where she earned her LPN certification in 1983. The pinnacle of her life came on December 16, 1983 with her then husband, Paul Daniel Boyers (Honorably), she gave birth to her son, Paul Daniel II, known to all as “Boone”.
Later entering the workforce primarily as a caregiver, she served her community at Heritage Hall, Trinity Mission, The Woodland Inc., completing her service with Centra Health at Southside Hospital. Notably her favorite, and last, “Job” of all was in the Pulmonary Dept. Southside Hospital under the direction of Dr Sunil Rajan, whom she admired and loved.
In 2015 she and her husband would relocate to Green Bay, VA into a home and mini farm that they constructed together. It is there that she flourished finding peace and happiness tending to her herbs garden and caring for her animals, chicken, a turkey “Albus”, goats, dogs and cats.
Beverly will be sorely missed by scores of co-workers, nieces, nephews and cousins. Her last worldly hope/wish was for all to get early health screening.
Memorial contributions may be made to any animal rescue foundation of your choosing in her name.
As per Beverly’s wishes her service will remain private.
