Cecilia Baker Dunkley

Cecilia Jo Dunkley, 80, of Farmville, Virginia, passed away on September 9, 2025.

Cecilia, known as Celia to most, was born on July 19, 1945 to the late Billie Jo and Cecil Baker.

She was married to the late Archer Dunkley Jr. for 50 years.

Celia enjoyed cooking, baking, spending time with her family, and watching her birds. She

welcomed all into her home with loving arms, a warm meal, and a hug before you left. She was a

wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and she left an impact on everyone she came

across. She was proud to be a Mama, Nana and Great Nana.

Celia is survived by her children, Mary Jo Cooper (Colin), Melinda Hanks (Robbie), Matthew

(Rock) Dunkley. She had 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband, Archie Dunkley, and her

brother, Johnny Campbell.

There will not be a service. She wanted a “Celebration” of her life with family. She will be

loved and missed always.
