Diane Lynn Coffey Young

Diane Lynn Coffey Young, 77, of Cumberland County, passed away on April 27, 2026.

She was born on December 8, 1948, in Prince Edward County to Hunter Early Coffey

and Nannie Coffey (née Vaughan). She was a devoted stay-at-home mother to her

three children, whom she reared in Lynchburg with her late former husband, Aubrey

Young, Jr., before returning home to her beloved farm in Cumberland.

Diane is survived by her son, Hunter Young, and daughter-in-law Sue, of Troutville, VA;

her daughter, Sarah Young Bass, and son-in-law Mike, of Castle Pines, CO; and her

daughter, Caroline Young Watson, and her granddaughter, Violet Watson, of Mount

Pleasant, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service will be held at Antioch United Methodist Church 2706 Cumberland Road, Cumberland, VA 23040,

on Saturday, May 9, at 11 a.m.
