Frances Marion Simanske

Frances Marion Simanske, age ninety-six, of Farmville, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016. The funeral service will be held at Puckett Funeral Home on Friday, December 30, 2016 3:30 pm. with interment to follow in Westview Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 until 3:30pm at the Puckett Funeral Home.

Frances was born in Buckingham, Virginia on August 5, 1920. She graduated from Buckingham Central High School. She was married to Thomas C. Yancey (predeceased) with whom she had two daughters, Barbara and Katherine. Her second husband was Henry Simanske also predeceased.

Frances worked as a lead sales woman at Sears and Robuck until retirement. Afterwards, she enjoyed traveling, cooking, and entertaining family and guests. She was actively involved in Cumberland Presbyterian Church and earlier in Farmville Baptist Church.

Frances is survived by her daughters Katherine Y. De Lorraine of Roanoke, VA, Barbara Y. Anderson of Farmville, VA; her grandson, Rodney Thomas Stuart of Farmville, VA; a sister, Lorene Brown of Appomattox, VA, as well as other family and friends. In addition to the aforementioned, Frances is predeceased in death by her mother, Annie Southall Wilkerson; her father Floyd Wilkerson; her sister, Mable Phaup and her brothers, Herbert Wilkerson and Billy Wilkerson.

The family extends a special thank you to her caregiving of ten years, Judie Williams.
