Gerard Anthony Smith age 93 of Rice, VA passed away on May 17, 2026. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 15, 1932 to the late William A. and Anna Becker Smith. He was drafted into the US Army during the Korean War, he served some time in Germany. After his time in service he worked for AT&T for the US Navy in communications until retirement. He was married to Mary E Smith and raised 2 children together. He enjoyed music, he really enjoyed playing it and sharing it with other in many way on multiple instruments over the years as well as listening to. His other interest included, enjoy making things and working the mind with many different topics. He was active in the Boy Scouts throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a sister and a brother. He is survived by his children Thomas Smith and Marion Constante.

A funeral service will be held at St Theresa’s Catholic Church on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 11:00AM. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior starting at 10:00AM at the church. Interment in St Peter & Paul Cemetery in Springfield PA at a later date.
