Guy Watson Norman, 89 of Farmville, VA, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 12, 2026 in his home with his daughter by his side.

Guy was born on June 9, 1936 in Cumberland, Virginia to the late William Thomas Norman and Stella Atkins Norman. Guy was married to the love of his life, Edna Jamerson Norman for 56 years before her passing on May 28, 2013.

Guy started his career as an Engineer for the Farmville Fire Department and then joined the Farmville Police Department and served for only 40 years. Even after his retirement, he enjoyed returning to help with such events such as the Heart of Virginia Festival and the Farmville Christmas Parade. He was known by many and loved by all that did.

Guy was a man of the outdoors. Most would find him on his lawnmower, sitting on the tailgate of his pickup truck, riding his four wheeler or working in his garden as they passed his house. He was never a man to sit inside, except on Sunday afternoon watching the NASCAR race. His love for his family and their love for him could never have been unnoticed and equally his love for his community and his closest friends.

Guy was survived by his only daughter, Angela Norman Case (Scott) and his grandchildren Ryan, Tori and Harper, brother Ernest Norman (Doretha) and numerous nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his brothers Tom, Grey, Jack and sisters Irene, Bert, Letty, Nevada and Hilda Mae.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2026 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Puckett Funeral Home. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at Puckett Funeral Home on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 1:00PM and then to Westview Cemetery for his final resting place. In honor of Guy's life memorial contributions can be made to Central Virginia Christian School, Farmville Fire Department and Prince Edward Rescue Squad.
