Helen Margaret Templeton

Helen Margaret Driskill Nelson Templeton, 88 of Farmville died Sunday, May 7, 2017. Margaret was born January 4, 1929 in Abilene, VA. She was the youngest child of Robert Lee Driskill and Helen Walton Dixon. She met and married Tommy Alton Nelson. They happily raised 3 children and farmed until his death. Margaret later married Lyman Dale Templeton, whom she met at Beulah United Methodist Church. After his death Margaret moved into The Farmville Woodland’s community where she made friends, shared experiences and brightened up the neighborhood with cascades of seasonal blooming flowers. She is survived by her son, Tommy Alton Nelson Jr (Ann); and his six children, Jason Andrew, Britt Elise, Shanna Rose, Tamara Elizabeth (Ryan), Rebecca Amaris, Jarrett Alton Nelson; her daughter, Brenda Nelson Irving (Joe); and their four children, Joe Peyton Jr. (Lara), Jeffrey Linwood (Rita), Courtney Lloyd (Brittany), Casey Lee Irving; and daughter, Sandra “Tiny” Nelson Dobson; and her four children, Tyler Ashley (Daniel), Trevor Austin Markert (Christa), Allison Margaret and Beau Garrett Dobson. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, her foster sister Lillian Riddle, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Tommy A. Nelson, her second husband Lyman Dale Templeton and 7 older siblings.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at11:00AM in Beulah United Methodist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Puckett Funeral Home.
