Howard Julian Covington

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at 3:00PM in Olive Branch United Methodist Church, 81 Olive Branch Rd, Prospect, VA. A brief reception will follow the service in the church.

Howard Julian Covington of Prospect passed away at his home on May 16, 2019, at the age of 75. He was born on May 9, 1944, the son of George Abbitt Covington and Hilda Abbitt Covington.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Edwina Miles Covington, by his sister Eugenia C. Barr of Farmville, and by his niece Joette B. Finchum.
Julian was never happier than when he was playing with his beloved border collie Prince or with his cats Hilda and Georgia. He was a retired dark-fired tobacco farmer, stilling raising beef cattle and a large garden. He was born and raised and spent his entire life on the Covington family farm near Elam.
He was an active member of the Farmville-Prince Edward Historical Society and the Prospect Historical Society. He was a member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church.
