James Garfield Bryant Sr., age 96 of Cumberland Co. passed away on June 15, 2020. He was born in Cumberland County and worked as a farmer and a butcher.
He was a World War II veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Stella Bryant.
He is survived by his daughter Alma Anderson (Harold) ,and a son Jimmy (Bean) Bryant (Verena) grandchildren; Philip Sloane (Ginny), Scott Sloane, Amy McCormick (Daniel) Ernie Bryant (Stephanie) and Erica Bryant .Three great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, a devoted nephew J.D.Black (Brenda), two devoted and special caregivers; Katie Scott and Tammy James.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday June 20 at 11:00 at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Cumberland Co.
Memorial contributions can be made to Cumberland Co. Sheriffs Dept. P.O. Box 71 Cumberland, VA 23040.
