John W. Stevenson, 91, of Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania passed away

peacefully on October 6th, 2025 in Farmville, Virginia, following a prolonged

illness.

John proudly served in the United Stated Airforce and was honorably discharged

in 1962. He went on to attend Pennsylvania State and graduated from San Jose

State University where he was the first of his family to earn a Bachelor’s Degree

in business. John spent his civilian career working in finance with various

companies and was featured in money magazine in 1973. He was noted as top

in his field at the time. He married the love of his life, Gail Pursley (Stevenson),

July 9th, 1957 and spent 57 magical years with her until she passed in 2014.

John and Gail raised 4 children who were the light of their lives; Constance

(Santala), John Jr., Patricia (Schuler), and Michael. He enjoyed spending hours

with his sons building and flying model airplanes and continued this hobby well

into his retirement years.

John was predeceased by his mother and father Lewis and Helen, his sister

Cathy (Black), his brother Robert, his eldest daughter, Connie (Santala), and his

beloved wife Gail. He is survived by his children John Jr. and his wife Audrey,

Patricia and her husband Donald, and Michael and his wife Lee Anne, his

grandchildren; Adam and Brianne (Connie and Darrel Santala), Barbara and

Alexander (John Jr and Audrey Stevenson), and Christie, Amanda (Grandmont),

and Robert (Patty and Don Schuler).

John was incredibly loved by so many and made friends everywhere he went. He

was often referred to as the Mayor of wherever he was living.

John will be interned with his wife Gail in the National Memorial Cemetery of

Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona. His family is celebrating his life privately.
