Joseph Anthony Schleigh Jr

Joseph “Joe” Anthony Schleigh Jr. entered into Heaven with his wife “Marty” on January

9, 2026 at the Bon Secours Community Hospice House. He was surrounded by loving

family members.

He was born in Olean, NY on January 29, 1949 and was the son of late Joseph Anthony

Schleigh and late Deloris Ann Elliot Schleigh. He was preceded in death by his wife,

Martha Hubbard Schleigh, his sister Joan Marie Schleigh Cole and nephew Lindsey

Harold Womack III.

Joe and Marty enjoyed traveling the country for years in their RV. Enjoyed playing cards

weekly, when possible, with friends Dick and Nancy.

Surviving to cherish his memory, son William Keith Schleigh of South Boston, VA, step

daughter Lea Clingenpeel Cadden of Midlothian VA, step son Curtis McDowell

Clingenpeel and daughter-in-law Gail Starling Clingenpeel of Mechanicsville VA;

nephew Robert Anthony Womack of South Boston, five step granddaughters Kerry,

Brianna, Audrey, Kristen and Jamie Lea.

Family and friends will be graveside during burial on January 26, 2026 2pm at Westview

Cemetery.
