Mrs. Mabel Lucille Moorefield, 86 of Farmville passed away Saturday morning in Farmville. She was born May 9, 1925 in Nottoway County to the late Daniel and Bessie Jenkins Neathery. She was retired from Crewe Garment Company after 25 years of service. She was a member of Crewe Baptist Church. She was the widow of Hilton L. Moorefield. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Shumaker of Farmville, granddaughters, Theresa M. Murray (Buck) of Rice and Penny Wagner (Paul) of Bedford, her great granddaughters, Lisa Lindsey (John) of Cumberland and Jordanna Wagner of Bedford and her great grandson, Kody Wagner also of Bedford; her sister, Anne Simpson of Blackstone and her brothers, Daniel Neathery of Matoaca and Charles Neathery of Chester. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Cliborne, Birdie Osborne and Edith Wilborn and her brothers, William, Robert, Hodges, John and David Neathery. A graveside service will be held Monday, September 26, 2011 2:00pm at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Rice. Family will receive friends Sunday, September 25, 2011 6:00-8:00pm at the Puckett Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Sharon Baptist Church, c/o Betty Jo Bailey, 1860A Cumberland Rd, Farmville, VA 23901.
