Naomia Scruggs West, 89 “NanNan” of Pamplin died Monday, May 20, 2019 at her home. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Born in Charlotte County on June 15, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Robert T. and Alice Scruggs of Cullen. She was the wife of the late Arvel West of Pamplin. She worked for Craddock Terry in Farmville for over thirty years and retired in 1996. She was a lifetime member of Spring Creek Baptist Church in Darlington Heights.
She is survived by her children: Gloria Garrison (Stanley) of Appomattox, Thomas West (Penny), Fay Pack (Rick Demuth), Gay Thompson (Martin), and Claude “Kippy” West (Penny) all of Pamplin; grandchildren, Ricky Garrison, Melinda Totty, Greg Garrison, Jennifer West Williams, Brian Sears, Chris and Bruce Thompson, and Melissa Churchill; numerous great grandchildren; great- great grandchildren; a loving brother Dale Scruggs (Patty) of Blackstone; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Naomia’s pride and joy was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She very much enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends.
A visitation will be held, Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2:00pm at Spring Creek Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
