Noel A. Settle, age 92, of Palm Beach, Florida, and Newport, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at her home in Palm Beach on June 23rd, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in New York in 1934, Noel lived a long, joyful, and fulfilling life. She divided her time between Palm Beach, Newport, and New Jersey, where she and Sydnor raised their family. Noel cherished family and friends, delighted in entertaining, and especially enjoyed the beautiful views of the Intracoastal Waterway from her home. She enjoyed and was a competent bridge player and deeply loved chocolate chip cookies, and all sweets.

Throughout her life, Noel generously devoted her time to volunteer service with organizations including the Morris Museum, Newport Hospital, the Palm Beach Rehabilitation Center, Hampden-Sydney College, and Sloan- Kettering where she served on the flower committee making beautiful arrangements for patients. Noel believed deeply in giving back to her community and found great satisfaction in helping others.

She is survived by her two children, William Settle Jr. and his wife, Nancylee, and Lisa Callaway and her husband, Norman. She also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren: Alexandra Callaway and her husband, Glenn Herwig; Tooker and Bailey Callaway; and Elizabeth, Kaitlin, and Thomas Settle. She is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews. Noel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, W. Sydnor Settle.

Noel will be remembered for her sense of style, quick wit, gracious spirit, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel special and expressed her creativity through thoughtful poems she wrote to commemorate birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, and other treasured family occasions. Those poems will remain a lasting reminder of her love.

A celebration of Noel's life will be held on Saturday, July 11th, at 11:00 a.m. at Hampden-Sydney College which held a special place in her heart.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Palm Beach Rehabilitation Center.
