Pamela Kathryn Angello

Pamela Blauvelt Angello passed away peacefully at her home on June 15, 2026 after a long and

fruitful life. Born on June 3, 1925, Pam just turned 101 and had a chance to celebrate her birthday

with her family. Pam was the daughter of Ernest and Lilian King. She was preceded in death by her

husbands Joseph Blauvelt and Joseph Angello. Her sisters Helen Cornwell, Marjorie Allen,

Rosemary Campbell, and Isabelle Raymond have also passed away. She was the last of the

marvelous King sisters.

Born in New Jersey, her father Ernest King died when she was young and all the King sisters

worked to support the family. Pam worked as a telephone switchboard operator. She married

Joseph Blauvelt of New York and they moved to Michigan where they remained for 42 years and

raised a loving family of five children. In 1995,when Joe became ill, they moved to Farmville to live

with their eldest son Chuck and his family. Pam has remained in Farmville ever since. She often

remarked how she grew to love Farmville and considered it her true home. Pam was a devout

Catholic and became a member of St. Theresa’s Church in Farmville. After her husband died she

met fellow parishioner Joe Angello, who had also lost his wife and they soon married. Thus, she had

a second loving and fulfilling marriage. They moved into The Woodlands and she has been there

ever since.

Pam loved to play golf and card games, especially bridge, which she played for many years at the

Woodlands. She was legendary for her competitive nature. Even her grandchildren could expect no

mercy from their “Granny” whether the game was Hearts, Monopoly or even Candyland.

She was also an accomplished artist and left behind many previously unseen drawings and

sketches.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Kathy Metroka, and her granddaughter Claudia. She is

survived by sons Chuck and his wife Claudia of Farmville; John and his wife Cathy of Crossville,

Tennessee; Tom and his wife Marilu of Clearwater, Florida; her son Andy of Annapolis, Maryland;

her son-in- law Mark Metroka of Fort Worth Texas; and her step-daughters Cathy Mitchell and her

husband Dan of Charlotte County, Virginia; Marie Gleason and her husband Mike of New Jersey;

and Jodi Mack also of New Jersey. Surviving grandchildren are Kristel Barber, Carla Blauvelt,

Charlie Blauvelt, Adam Blauvelt, Beth Heffner, Luke Blauvelt, Kaya Blauvelt, Ruby Blauvelt, Hannah

Fromm, Lucie Bradley, Jake Blauvelt, Daniel Metroka, Claire Metroka, Michelle Novak, Jody Gee,

Danielle Owen, Matt Gleason, Joe Mack, Erin Mack, and Sean Mack.

The spouses of the grandchildren were also an important part of Pam’s “circle of love and influence”

and they too referred to her as “Granny.” They include Jeff Barber, David Stobellaar, Joseph Tatum,

Todd Heffner, Cindy Blauvelt, Bri Blauvelt, Patrick Fromm, Chris Bradley, and Tania Blauvelt. In

addition, Pam has 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

This is a remarkable legacy of a remarkable woman who taught us all important lessons of life. We

are forever indebted to “Granny” and hopefully will continue to live lives worthy of her example. We

are grateful that at long last she has found peace with Our Lord.

There will be visitation at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church on Monday, July 6 at 10 AM followed by the

funeral mass at 11:00 AM. Arrangements are being handled by Puckett Funeral Home, Farmville.
