Ray Roscoe Routt

Ray Roscoe Routt age 91 of Cullen, VA passed away on December 26, 2021.
He was born on October 31, 1930 to the late Roscoe H. and Jewel Grabele Routt. He was born, raised and died on the farm that he loved. He served his country in the United States Army during Korean War. He came home to marry the love of his life Virginia Claiborne Routt, they were married for 46 years. He was a farmer, carpenter grew tobacco and raised beef cattle. His favorite work was raking in the hay fields and was known to never waste anything.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a sister Reba and an infant brother.
He is survived by his 3 sons; Donald Ray Routt of Cullen, Kenneth Roscoe Routt of Cullen, Wayne Dale Routt of Farmville, granddaughter Logan Sierra Routt, 4 brothers; Ryland Routt (Joan), Roscoe Routt (Barbara), Roosevelt “Bobby” Routt (Susan), Reuben Routt (Brenda) 4 sisters Rose Ellen Johnson of Arizona, Rachel L. Routt of Rice, Ruby Johnson of Burkeville, Roberta Routt of Roanoke, many nieces and nephews.
A family visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Puckett Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 2:00PM at Mt Nebo Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
