Salvador Mendez

Salvador “Joe” Mendez was born on December 18, 1926 on the Osage Reservation in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. He died September 1, 2026 at his home with loved ones by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents Emma and Joseph Mendez, his siblings; Rosa Barbosa, Isidor Mendez, Josie Campbell, wife Dora, daughter Della “Penny” Rice, granddaughters; Stephanie Jo Rice-Dyson, Jamie Elizabeth Ingram.

He is survived by daughters; Sherry (Jack) Giles, Patty (Watt) Campbell, Jayne (Sam Campbell) Mendez, Teresa (Mike) Duncan, Rosemary (Richard) Pollard, son Arthur (Beth) Mendez, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at 11:00AM with a visitation starting at 10:00AM at St Theresa’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. Puckett Funeral Home is serving the family. www.puckettfh.com.
