Susan Tavernner Frank

Susan Tavenner Frank, 73, of Rice, Virginia, passed away on October 3, 2026.

Susan was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Above all, her family was at the center of her life, and she took great pride in the family she and her husband, Billy, built together.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Frank of Rice, Virginia; her children, Josh Frank and his wife, Kathryn, of Rice; Will Frank and his wife, Caitlin, of Rice; and Katie Bunting and her husband, Rob, of Chesterfield.

Susan was a proud and loving grandmother to Charlotte and Chase Frank, Campbell and Tucker Frank, and Winston and Marshall Bunting. Her grandchildren brought tremendous joy to her life, and the love she had for them will always be remembered.

She is also survived by her older brother, Gaines Tavenner, and her younger brother, Bill Tavenner.

In the summer, Susan enjoyed riding in Billy’s Corvette through the mountains to their family cabin on the Cowpasture River, where they would sit in beach chairs along the shallow, rocky waters.

Gift-giving was her specialty. She took great pleasure in surprising her loved ones with unique and thoughtful gifts, always finding something that reflected the person she was giving it to.

Susan made many friends and acquaintances while supporting her grandchildren at their many sporting events and academic activities. She treasured cheering them on and being present for the milestones and accomplishments.

Susan will be remembered for the love she gave her family and for the many memories shared with those closest to her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love, traditions, and memories she leaves behind will remain with her family for generations to come.

The family will receive visitors this Friday, October 9th, at Puckett Funeral Home from 6:00 to 7:30pm.
