Traci Mae Turner, 57, of Cumberland, Virginia, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Friday October 2, 2026, after a courageous 24-year health battle.
Born on January 25, 1969, in Farmville, Virginia, to Raymond and Sarah Turner, Traci was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend whose love for her family knew no bounds.
She is survived by her daughter, Morgan Tapp (Adam); her sisters, Susan Turner, Mitzi Shannon, and Kelly Perkins (Jimmy); her brother, Paul Turner; and her beloved granddaughters, Addison, Ryleigh and Savannah. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Traci cherished time with her family, especially watching Addison play softball and basketball and Ryleigh dance. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and dining out with loved ones. Despite the challenges she faced, Traci remained grateful, strong, and deeply loving. Her strength, love and generosity will never be forgotten.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at VCU Health, as well as Traci’s physician of 20 years, Dr. Wes Shepherd, for their compassionate care.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6 from 5-7pm at Puckett Funeral Home in Farmville, Virginia. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday, October 7th at 1pm at Puckett Funeral Home. A private graveside service will follow. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to VCU Pauley Heart Center.
