William Robert Rohr Sr.

CMSgt William Robert Rohr, Sr., USAF Retired, of Burkeville, Virginia, passed away April 25, 2017. He is survived by his five children: William R. Rohr, Jr. and wife of Crewe, Virginia; Virginia S. Morgan of Burkeville, Virginia; Patricia A. Hill and husband of Jetersville, Virginia; Barbara J. Rohr and husband of Manassas, Virginia; and David J. Rohr and wife of Rice, Virginia. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Gloria May Garrabrant Rohr and his granddaughter, Karen Elizabeth Morgan. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Chief Rohr was born in Jersey City, New Jersey. He served 28 years in the United States Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force he entertained several different careers to include shop teacher at Prince Edward County High School and employed by Buildings and Grounds at Hampden Sydney College. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren as well as traveling. He enjoyed being the center of attention and was loved by all.
A family visitation will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 12:00noon - 2:00PM at Puckett Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Southside Virginia SPCA.
